Frequently asked questions
Why is this important? What kind of impact can I expect?
The BE-EDGE Consult-a-thon initiative is an opportunity for millennials in the community to connect with local
businesses and focus on solving challenges together. Participation in this initiative will give millennials:
- A connection to their community through volunteer efforts
● A concrete deliverable of consulting work in your field of choice
● Access to industry partners in final judging of case competition
● Investment in their professional portfolio and a strong addition to their resume
Who is eligible to apply?
Millennials should have a Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in the field. We are
looking for people with multiple passions, or as we call it: dimensions. This is a place to showcase and
hone in on your professional capabilities and creativity.
What kind of training is included?
Julia Ivy, Executive Teaching Professor of Strategy and International Business at Northeastern University
and founder of the BE-EDGE method for boutique employability will train all millennials on connecting with
a business problem, analyzing possible solutions and how to impress a stakeholder with the outcome.
Past BE-EDGE students will be case mentors, an industry leading trainer will provide teams with a pitch
training, and industry experts will tune in to give insight on case solutions.
